The Supreme Court's NEEPCO v Astra Construction ruling confirms a contractual interest bar can strip pre-reference interest from arbitral awards, turn

ArMee Infotech has moved from order-book ambition to a concrete pre-IPO execution commitment. The integrated technology-infrastructure and renewable energy firm received two Letters of Award from Bondada Engineering worth approximately ₹740.97 crore, including GST, for amended EPC Balance of System (BOS) packages at a solar project in Fatehgarh, Rajasthan.
The awards split across Block-1 (300 MW AC, ₹375.18 crore) and Block-3 (300 MW AC, ₹365.79 crore), covering 600 MW AC combined.
Under the amended packages, ArMee Infotech will deliver:
- Engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and supply
- Erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of BOS works
- Associated power evacuation infrastructure
- Three years of O&M and AMC
The commercial anatomy matters more than the headline number. Bondada Engineering — itself a listed EPC contractor with solar and telecom infrastructure exposure — is the client here, not the end developer. That positions ArMee Infotech as a downstream BOS contractor on terms the company itself calls back-to-back. In practice, payment milestones, liquidated damages, defect liability and change-order exposure are passed down the chain, while the client-facing EPC relationship stays with Bondada Engineering.
For ArMee Infotech, the strategic logic is capital-markets-driven. The company secured in-principle IPO approval from SEBI in February 2026 and is targeting a listing on BSE and NSE. A ₹741 crore addition to the renewable order book sharpens the revenue-visibility narrative ahead of pricing.
But order book size is not margin quality: back-to-back BOS scope in utility-scale solar is among the most competitive segments in Indian renewables, with thin procurement spreads and concentrated module, tracker and balance-of-system supply risk.
Execution exposure is real. Fatehgarh sits in Rajasthan's high-irradiation solar belt, but the amended nature of the packages points to scope changes from an earlier structure. ArMee Infotech must mobilise engineering and supply-chain capacity across 600 MW AC while the LOAs remain subject to definitive EPC BOS contracts — meaning award visibility without full contractual certainty.
The industry signal: pre-IPO contractors are stacking order books through downstream BOS subcontracts, while primary EPC holders such as Bondada Engineering push execution and margin risk lower in the chain.
For developers and lenders, the question is no longer who holds the contract — but how many layers of back-to-back risk sit beneath it.
