Brahmaputra Infrastructure Limited has signed a ₹70.18 crore, five-year performance-based maintenance contract for the 87.18-km NH-502A corridor in Mizoram.
The contract was awarded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways through the Chief Engineer, PWD Highway, Aizawl.
The ticket size understates the strategic weight of the deal.
NH-502A runs through southern Mizoram and links Lawngtlai to the Myanmar border — among the most remote stretches in the Northeast.
The contract, executed under the company’s Multi Modal Project Division, obliges it to establish the following in difficult terrain:
- Plants
- Machinery
- Workforce camps
- Logistics support
That front-loaded mobilisation is the actual transaction: a physical beachhead in a corridor where the Border Roads Organisation, MoRTH and state public works departments will keep tendering.
Spread over 60 months, the order is roughly ₹14 crore a year.
It is annuity-like revenue, but the cash profile is back-ended: mobilisation cost lands early while performance-based payments follow serviceability.
Monsoon maintenance is explicitly in scope, which concentrates margin and reputation risk in a landslide-prone geography.
Management’s guidance of 15–20% EBITDA shows why O&M is becoming a preferred adjacency for contractors seeking margin stability against lumpy EPC risk.
The filing confirms a domestic government award with no related-party or promoter interest — a clean but modest revenue event for a small-cap balance sheet.
Small and mid-sized EPC contractors are using low-ticket frontier O&M awards as entry into high-barrier border regions.
The ₹70 crore fee is less a revenue outcome than an option on future India-Myanmar connectivity spend.
The contractor that absorbs mobilisation cost now will be locally present and pre-qualified when larger BRO and MoRTH packages are floated.
