IRB Infrastructure Developers' Q2FY27 net profit rose 84.85% to ₹260.15 crore on 15% toll revenue growth and higher InvIT distributions.

The complaint reached Bavdhan Police Station on 27 October. On 31 October a third underground cable came up severed.
Whatever deterrent value the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited thought a police filing would buy, the widening work between Wakad Bridge and Chandani Chowk had erased it.
The first cut came on 16 October, when a 22 kV Beverly Feeder cable was snapped. The 22 kV Nia Feeder went the next day near Bitwise Chowk.
MSEDCL puts its repair bill in the lakhs, a figure irrelevant to the National Highways Authority of India. The number nobody has priced is the cable left under the new carriageway.
MSEDCL's Baner branch, under the Aundh Sub-Division, is not arguing about compensation. It is arguing about sequence.
Procedure requires the road agency to obtain an MSEDCL-approved estimate and shift obstructing lines before construction advances. That approval runs through the utility, at the utility's pace. The highway programme does not wait.
The permission question is sharper. Senior MSEDCL officials say NHAI holds clearance for work inside Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation limits but no equivalent sanction for the stretch under Pune Municipal Corporation.
Two municipal jurisdictions, one corridor. The contractor, unnamed in the complaint, works across both.
Damaged utility assets are a recoverable line item. The real exposure sits elsewhere.
A contractor interrupted by cable strikes, police complaints and stop-work notices accumulates a delay record. On a package where utility shifting already sits on the critical path, that record becomes an extension-of-time claim. NHAI ends up owning the schedule slip, the contractor the allegation.
If the 22 kV lines stay under the widened carriageway, every future fault means cutting new pavement.
Repair windows stretch, consumers in Aundh and Baner carry the outage, and MSEDCL takes the criticism for a road it never built.
NHAI has not commented. The silence is routine and expensive, because contractors pricing the next Pune package will read the sequence:
- Shifting scheduled after award
- Clearances split across two municipal corporations
- A distribution company that escalates to police rather than to a coordination committee
Third-party utility relocation has stopped being a pre-construction formality on Indian highway widening. It is a critical-path item with a claims instrument attached.
Price utility coordination as a cost line carrying float, and close the clearance gap before tender, not after the third cable.
